De eerste stap is het maken van een child theme directory. U moet een nieuwe directory maken en deze een naam geven. Mensen gebruiken vaak de naam van het Parent theme en voegen er “-child” aan toe. Als dit niet het geval is, kunt u ook gewoon de naam van het domein toevoegen waarop u het theme gebruikt. Voordat u verdergaat, moet u ervoor zorgen dat u geen spaties, umlauts of speciale tekens gebruikt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stap 2<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Nadat u succesvol een child theme directory hebt aangemaakt, is de volgende stap het toevoegen van een nieuw bestand, “style.css.” Nadat u het style.css bestand hebt toegevoegd, moet u functions.php toevoegen. Hierna is de derde stap het maken van een screenshot.php. Maak gewoon een screenshot.png in dezelfde directory en sla deze op. Zorg ervoor dat de grootte van de screenshot 1200px x 900px is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stap 4<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Archiveer eerst de drie bestanden in een zip en upload ze vervolgens naar de WordPress-beheerder. Na de installatie van het thema hoeft u het alleen nog maar te activeren. Om uw thema te activeren, gaat u naar Design > Theme en klikt u op de knop ‘Activate’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kindthema voor gebruikers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Gebruikers die regelmatig het CSS-bestand blijven wijzigen, moeten absoluut het Child Theme gaan gebruiken. U hoeft zich geen zorgen te maken over zware codering en kunt eenvoudig de wijzigingen die u wilt implementeren, aanpassen. Bovendien bevat het child theme alle aanpassingen die u hebt gemaakt.
